The Way She Wears It

The scenes presented in this performance reflect my lifelong fascination and involvement with the fashion industry: modeling lessons and “go-sees” in my youth, pursuing (but not completing) a degree in fashion design, and binge-watching Project Runway, America’s Next Top Model, and various documentaries about supermodels and designers. Leaning into the absurd embodied strategies use to convince consumers to “buy it, buy it, buy it,” this work is also an extension of my research on Voguing and its influences.
